“COMPELLING WORLD WAR TWO NOVEL”
A thousand thanks to noted author Pat Camalliere for taking the time to write such a lovely review.
“If you liked Kristin Hannah’s The Nightingale, you will have to love Pamela Allegretto’s Bridge of Signs and Dreams. Allegretto’s story is set in WWII Italy, and tells of the conflict experienced by Italian citizens under the fascist regime and during Nazi occupation. The story is told through the eyes of Angelina Russo, who is trying to survive along with her young daughter while her husband is at the front. Her every effort is thwarted by an ambitious sister-in-law, and she is placed in one dangerous situation after another, with only her wits and fortitude to see her through. From the opening scene until the conclusion, the reader is engaged by compelling action, empathy, authenticity, and concise writing. The story reads as if the author is giving a first-hand experience, presenting what seems to be a very real understanding of WWII Italy. I hope Pamela will bless us with another novel in the near future – I’ll be waiting for sure!”
